Perfect for carry-out meals and other shopping needs, these shopping bags are strong and durable. EcoSafe® shopping bags are certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI®) to meet ASTM standards. These bags are compostable in commercial and municipal compost facilities, which may not be available in all areas.

Are there biodegradable shopping bags?

Most shopping bags are not biodegradable. A better option is a compostable shopping bag. These bags can be processed in a commercial composting facility, so they do not need to be sent to a landfill. Please check locally as composting facilities are not available in all areas.

Are paper shopping bags compostable?

Paper shopping bags that do not have a plastic coating or other plastic parts are accepted by many commercial composting facilities.
