Broadly speaking, in order for a product to be compostable, it must be able to break down naturally over time within organic materials.

PFAS, or Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are additives used in some products to help resist oil and water. While most of our products are made without added PFAS, some of our molded fiber products are still produced with PFAS. Currently, New York and California prohibit the shipment of items made with added PFAS to those states. If you are a resident of one of those states, and you order one or more of these items, we will put your order on hold and we will contact you to help you find a suitable, approved replacement product. We understand that this will cause frustration and inconvenience, however, we are committed to abiding by these regulations.
Most of our products are made without added PFAS. Those products can be found here:

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at 877-341-5464 or email us at customerservice@greenpaperproducts.com and we will be more than happy to help you find products that are approved for New York and California.
Eight percent of the world’s current oil production is used to produce plastics, and these plastics, after use, take up at least 25 percent of an average landfill site. Reducing and redirecting materials from landfills is a major goal of environmental reform. Our products are made from renewable resources with minimal long-term environmental impact so as to preserve our natural resources for future generations.
